Job Summary

Shropshire Community Health NHS Trust is seeking a skilled Radiographer to join our community team. The role involves working 18 hours a week, spread across 3 days, at Ludlow Community Hospital, with additional hours at Bridgnorth Community Hospital on a bi-monthly basis.

As a key member of our radiology team, you will be responsible for providing an efficient and effective diagnostic imaging service to the community of south Shropshire. Based at Ludlow Community Hospital, you will work autonomously to image patients attending the radiology department, either from the Minor Injury Unit, via their GP, or visiting consultants.

The successful applicant must hold a DCR or BSc(Hons) in Diagnostic Radiography and current HCPC registration. A minimum of 3 years post-graduation experience and current NHS experience are essential.

Main Duties

  • Work independently to maintain a high standard of imaging.
  • Maintain a high standard of personal behaviour, involvement, dress, and responsibility.
  • Ensure a smooth and efficient workflow.
  • Ensure patient care, dignity, and comfort at all times.
  • Alert the referrer or arrange for an urgent radiological report where the image suggests an untoward or unexpected diagnosis.
  • Familiarise yourself with the principles of clinical governance and strive to ensure and maintain high-quality patient care.
  • Ensure correct use of equipment and report all clinical incidents and faults to the team lead, organising appropriate action to repair faults as soon as possible.
