This leadership position involves directing the audit department, ensuring that all aspects of business clients' accounting and tax affairs are managed within agreed budgets and timescales.

  1. Build strong client relationships to maintain transparency and awareness of their financial situation and tax obligations.
  2. Capitalise on opportunities for tax planning and other services to enhance business performance.
  3. Achieve timely completion of tasks to meet statutory deadlines and billing targets.
  4. Effectively manage a budget with no unexpected write-offs, identifying areas for additional work and obtaining approval from stakeholders before commencing.
  5. Monitor financial exposure and outstanding debts prior to engaging in extra work.
  6. Pursue payment on account when necessary.
  7. Develop and implement efficient strategies for accounts preparation, including auditing, corporation tax returns, annual returns, and filing with relevant authorities within agreed timelines.
Key Requirements:
  1. ACA, ACCA, or CA qualification.
  2. Extensive knowledge of accepted auditing and accounting practices and principles.
  3. Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and familiarity with CaseWare or similar accounting software and commercial bookkeeping packages like Xero, Sage, and QuickBooks.
  4. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
