We are seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to support pupils with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) at Primary Schools in Barking. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working with SEND, although it does not need to be in a school-based setting. Relevant experience in Youth Mentor, Youth Support Worker, or Alternative Provisions/Pupil Referral Units, Behaviour Mentor roles, or SEMH roles is also valuable.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide individualized support to pupils with SEND to ensure they access the curriculum and make progress.
- Work collaboratively with teachers and other support staff to develop and implement personalized learning plans.
- Assist with the planning and delivery of lessons, including preparing materials and resources.
- Support pupils with their social and emotional needs, including behavior management and conflict resolution.
- Communicate effectively with parents and carers to ensure they are informed about their child's progress and well-being.
Requirements:
- Experience working with children with SEND.
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
