Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Firmware Engineer to join our team in Portsmouth, UK. The ideal candidate will have expertise in software-defined modems and radio systems, with a strong background in Digital Signal Processing (DSP) and VHDL coding within a Linux environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, test, and integrate robust firmware for complex software-defined modems, ensuring high reliability and performance.
  • Collaborate within a cross-functional team to achieve technical requirements and project milestones.
  • Implement best practices in version control, code quality, and project management to maintain firmware integrity and project consistency.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Digital Signal Processing (DSP): Strong background in DSP for modem applications.
  • VHDL Proficiency: Extensive experience in VHDL coding within a Linux environment.
  • Xilinx Vivado Expertise: Skilled in Vivado, including block diagrams and non-project mode, for firmware design and integration.
  • TCL Scripting: Competent in TCL scripting for IP configuration and project automation in Vivado.
  • Verilog/System Verilog: Familiarity with Verilog and System Verilog.
  • Version Control with Git: Proficient in Git for managing source code.
  • Atlassian Toolset: Experience with Jira, Confluence, and BitBucket for Agile project management.
  • Agile/Scrum Experience: Previous work experience in Agile or Scrum environments is preferred.
