Camp Manager

Job Summary:

The Camp Manager is a key role within our organization, responsible for the successful delivery of our multi-activity holiday childcare programs. This position requires a highly motivated and experienced professional who can inspire and lead a team to create fun and engaging holiday camps that promote participation, structure, care, and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Team Management: Directly manage a team of staff to ensure they deliver high-quality care and activities, adhering to all policies and procedures.
  • Leadership: Inspire staff to deliver quality activities by leading by example with energy and enthusiasm.
  • Policy Implementation: Ensure all policies and procedures on camp are adhered to, including health and safety, and safeguarding procedures.
  • Induction and Training: Lead Camp Induction Day for staff prior to camp opening.
  • Communication: Liaise with parents, host school representatives, and Head Office to ensure smooth camp operations.
  • Administrative Duties: Manage administrative tasks, including sign-in and sign-out procedures, registration, staff rotas, and changes to the timetable.
  • Collaboration: Liaise with staff teams of specialist programs to ensure smooth camp operations.
  • Welfare and Safety: Continuously promote the welfare of children in care and ensure high-quality childcare provision.
  • Professionalism: Demonstrate high levels of energy, enthusiasm, and professionalism, acting as a suitable role model for children and staff.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Qualified or working towards a qualification in childcare, teaching, or coaching, with significant experience working with children.
  • Leadership Experience: Natural leader with management experience, ideally within the holiday camp, childcare, teaching, or coaching sectors.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communicator with strong face-to-face customer service skills.
  • Knowledge of Camp Activities: Good working knowledge of camp activities and ability to take short-term cover of groups.
  • Decision-Making: Good decision-maker, able to quickly assess and make informed judgments.
  • Adaptability: Pro-active and conscientious, able to adapt to situations when required.

Desirable Requirements:

  • Paediatric First Aid: Hold a Paediatric First Aid (12 hour or 6 hour) qualification.
