Job Summary

The Field Service Engineer will be responsible for providing on-site service, maintenance, and technical support for our equipment/systems. This role involves troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing equipment, as well as providing technical training to customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Equipment Installation and Maintenance: Install, troubleshoot, repair, and maintain equipment at customer sites.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform routine preventive maintenance and calibration of equipment to ensure optimal performance.
  • Technical Support: Provide technical support and guidance to customers, ensuring efficient operation of the equipment.
  • Issue Resolution: Diagnose hardware and software issues, utilizing schematics, manuals, and other technical documentation.
  • Training and Development: Conduct training sessions for customers on equipment usage and maintenance procedures.
  • Documentation and Communication: Document service activities, including service reports, customer communications, and parts used.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with the sales and customer support teams to ensure customer needs are met.
  • Inventory Management: Manage and maintain inventory of spare parts and tools required for service activities.
  • Safety and Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and company policies while on-site.
  • Continuous Improvement: Provide feedback to the product development team on equipment performance and customer feedback.
  • Professional Development: Stay updated on new technologies and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electrical, Mechanical, Electronics) or a related technical field. Equivalent experience may be considered.
  • Experience: Minimum of 3 years of experience in a field service role, preferably within the medical technology industry.
  • Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and software troubleshooting techniques. Proficiency with diagnostic tools and software used for equipment troubleshooting.
  • Soft Skills: Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and under pressure. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal. Customer-focused with a commitment to delivering high-quality service.
  • Travel and Availability: Ability to travel frequently and work flexible hours, including weekends if needed. Valid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively.

Preferred Skills

  • Equipment and Software Experience: Experience with specific medical equipment or software relevant to the company.
  • Certifications: Certifications such as CompTIA A+, Network+, or specific OEM certifications.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with PLCs, SCADA systems, or industrial automation.
