We are seeking a highly skilled Multiskilled Operations Specialist to join our dynamic engineering team at Protea Recruitment Ltd, a leading recruitment partner for the food, drinks, and FMCG industries.

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced engineer to take on a critical role in maintaining the operational efficiency of our site, ensuring that plant equipment operates effectively and efficiently. The successful candidate will provide proactive support to production and packaging operations, aligning with health, safety, and environmental regulations.

The ideal candidate will possess expertise in mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems, as well as experience in maintenance and continuous improvement methodologies. A strong understanding of CMMS and Microsoft Office applications is essential, along with relevant qualifications and experience in manufacturing environments.

The salary for this position is estimated to be around £50,000 per annum, depending on experience and qualifications. If you are a motivated and experienced engineer looking to take on a new challenge, please apply.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Equipment Maintenance & Troubleshooting
  • Perform fault diagnosis and repairs to minimise equipment downtime.
  • Address breakdowns promptly and escalate issues when necessary.

Preventive Maintenance:

  • Conduct planned and preventive maintenance to optimise equipment reliability.
  • Support the implementation of predictive maintenance programmes.

Safety & Compliance:

  • Ensure all activities adhere to safety regulations and company policies.
  • Maintain compliance with environmental standards, supporting sustainability goals.

Documentation & Reporting:

  • Accurately record completed tasks, parts used, and issues identified in the CMMS.
  • Communicate effectively during shift handovers to ensure continuity.

Team Collaboration:

  • Work closely with other engineers, production staff, and apprentices to maintain operational excellence.
