The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Multi-Skilled Engineer to join our Maintenance Team at Imerys. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for providing mechanical and electrical expertise to ensure the optimal performance and availability of our plant and equipment.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out routine preventive, corrective, and breakdown maintenance tasks to minimize downtime and ensure maximum productivity.
  2. Conduct fault-finding, diagnostic, and installation work to resolve technical issues efficiently.
  3. Calibrate and diagnose faults on instrumentation systems to ensure accurate readings and reliable operation.
  4. Perform risk assessments and maintain a safe working environment by identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
  5. Source and procure site spares to minimize delays and ensure continuity of operations.
  6. Work at heights and in confined spaces, adhering to strict safety protocols and guidelines.

Requirements:

  • Background in a production or heavy industrial environment with mechanical and electrical experience of fixed processing plant and equipment.
  • Experience working with pumps, welding, mills, burners/furnaces/gas, intrusive chemical work, and centrifuges is essential.
  • Apprenticeship in mechanical/electrical engineering (NVQ Level 3 or equivalent) and a strong HSE ethos are required.
  • Proficiency in the use of IT and the ability to drive in the UK are also necessary.
