Job Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to work with Peterborough City Council as a Child Development Specialist.

We are seeking a qualified and experienced professional to join our team in this role. As a Child Development Specialist, you will be responsible for working with children and young people in educational settings to identify and address any learning or behavioral issues.

The successful candidate will have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting assessments and providing recommendations for support
  • Working closely with teachers, parents and carers to develop strategies for improvement
  • Collaborating with other professionals to ensure a comprehensive approach to supporting pupils

Requirements and Qualifications:

A relevant degree in Psychology or a related field is essential, as is experience of working with children and young people in an educational setting. The successful candidate will also need to hold or be willing to obtain appropriate professional registration and certification.


Salary and Benefits:

The salary for this role is £46,525 - £56,540 per annum, plus up to 3 SPA points (up to £61,848). From April 2025, the salary will be Scale A points 5 - 10, plus up to 3 SPA points (£50,627 - £60,160, plus up to 3 SPA points to £63,836).
