Housekeeping Specialist

We are seeking a skilled Housekeeping Specialist to join our team at Discovery Care Group. In this vital role, you will maintain a clean, safe, and comfortable environment for residents, staff, and visitors.
Key Responsibilities- Cleaning and Maintenance
- Perform daily cleaning of resident rooms, common areas, bathrooms, kitchens, and administrative spaces following health and safety standards.
- Ensure surfaces, floors, and furniture are sanitized regularly to prevent the spread of infection.
- Collect, wash, dry, and return residents' personal laundry and linens in a timely and respectful manner.
- Maintain the cleanliness and organization of laundry rooms and storage areas.
- Monitor cleaning and hygiene supply levels, notifying the Care Home Manager when stock replenishment is needed.
- Ensure safe and appropriate storage of cleaning products, following COSHH guidelines.
- Adhere to all health and safety policies, including infection control and waste disposal procedures, to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff.
- Report any hazards, damages, or maintenance needs promptly to the appropriate personnel.
- Maintain a compassionate, friendly, and respectful approach when interacting with residents, recognizing and adapting to their individual needs.
- Assist residents with minor housekeeping tasks in their personal spaces, promoting independence and comfort.
- Coordinate cleaning schedules with care staff to ensure minimal disruption to residents and ongoing activities.
- Communicate effectively with other team members to maintain a seamless, supportive environment within the care home.
- Experience: Previous housekeeping experience in a healthcare or care home environment is desirable but not essential. Training will be provided.
- Knowledge: Basic understanding of hygiene and infection control practices; familiarity with COSHH regulations is an advantage.
- Skills: Strong attention to detail; excellent organizational and time-management skills; effective communication with residents, staff, and visitors.
- Personal Attributes: Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to maintaining a high standard of cleanliness and care.
- This role requires physical demands such as lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Flexible working hours may be required, including weekends or holidays, as needed.
We offer a competitive salary of £25,000 - £30,000 per annum, depending on experience.
