About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Sous Chef to join our culinary team at Ragdale Hall Spa, a leading destination spa in the UK. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Head Chef and Head Chef in creating menu items, recipes, and developing dishes that meet the highest standards of quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Direct and coordinate the food preparation process, delegating tasks to ensure efficient and effective kitchen operations.
  • Cook and prepare high-quality dishes that meet the expectations of our discerning guests.
  • Supervise and motivate all kitchen sections, ensuring that all team members are working together to achieve our culinary goals.
  • Be responsible for health and safety, ensuring that all kitchen practices and procedures are in line with industry standards.
  • Ensure that all food hygiene practices are maintained at the highest level, meeting the requirements of regulatory bodies.
  • Assist in determining food inventory needs, stocking, and ordering to ensure that our kitchen is always well-stocked and prepared for the demands of our busy spa.
  • Ensure that the kitchen meets all regulatory requirements, including sanitary and food safety guidelines.
Requirements
  • NVQ Level 2 or equivalent in food preparation or professional cookery.
  • Level 2 Hygiene qualification is desirable.
Working Hours and Salary

39 hours per week worked on a rota basis between the hours of 6.00 am and 10 pm, including some weekends. Salary: £29,000 per annum to £34,719 per annum depending on experience.
