Experienced Educator Sought for BTEC External Examiner Role

About the Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to the quality enhancement of BTEC Higher National programmes and ensure centres' compliance with Pearson's quality assurance expectations. The successful candidate will have a strong background in esports education and a proven track record of delivering and assessing BTEC Higher National qualifications.

Responsibilities
  • Undertake sampling of assessed student work to establish that outcomes are in accordance with Pearson and professional standards for Higher National qualifications
  • Provide sampling-related reports, feedback, and development advice to centres and Pearson
  • Produce quality assurance reports for centres and Pearson on the sampling undertaken, outcomes reached, and support provided
  • Apply appropriate sanctions, in consultation with the team, where necessary to assure quality of learning, teaching, assessment, and professionalism
  • Work with centres to develop and implement action plans where standards are not being upheld
  • Facilitate sourcing materials for training and standardisation events
  • Participate annually in online training and standardisation activities
Requirements

We are looking for an individual who holds a recognised qualification at least at FEHQ Level 6 and has a student- and customer-focused approach. Excellent interpersonal skills, including verbal and written communication skills, are essential, as well as experience using technology to communicate with a variety of individuals and teams.

Salary and Benefits

The salary for this role is £45,000 - £55,000 per annum, depending on experience. We offer a comprehensive benefits package, including pension scheme, life insurance, and annual leave.
