About the Role:

As a key member of our Procurement team, you will play a critical role in developing and implementing our sustainability strategy, focusing on waste and recycling initiatives across all Morrisons sites. This includes managing costs and income across various waste categories, driving waste mitigation and recycling solutions, and engaging with senior stakeholders to ensure alignment with our Zero General Waste Target.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive waste and recycling strategy to minimize waste volumes and maximize income
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure business needs are met and sustainability goals are achieved
  • Contract and contract management to secure optimal waste and recycling services
  • Procurement project management to drive business and commercial benefits
  • Build and maintain relationships with suppliers to source essential goods and services

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in procurement, with a strong understanding of the industry and supplier base
  • Ability to evaluate, review, and challenge complex business cases and commercial proposals
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills
  • Strong relationship-building and influencing skills to drive business and commercial benefits
  • Knowledge of waste and recycling practices is a plus
