Public Relations Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled PR Executive to join our team at Motability Operations. In this exciting role, you will play a key part in shaping the way our organization is understood and talked about externally.
Your primary responsibility will be to support the delivery of all our corporate communications and PR activity, helping us promote the success of Motability Operations externally to different audiences and through various channels, while protecting our reputation at all times. You will work closely with external and internal partners and the media to deliver effective and consistent communications in support of our business goals.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee our in-house press office function in support of our media relations strategy, including being the first point of contact for journalist enquiries, researching, writing and distributing press releases, corporate news stories and case studies, developing briefs and key messaging for spokespeople and to support our narratives, and helping to develop our media monitoring and evaluation processes and systems.
- Support the senior communications manager to deliver the organization's innovation communications strategy and showcase our work in the innovation space.
- Provide copyediting and proofreading support for our corporate publications.
- Provide business support to the media and communications team, including support with budgets, booking meetings and travel arrangements.
- Work with the wider communications and engagement team, as well as the brand and marketing teams, to maximize opportunities to raise awareness and manage the reputation of both Motability Operations and the Motability Scheme.
- Work with the Motability charity communications team to ensure both organizations are informed of current and upcoming projects as appropriate, and to maintain a positive public profile of the Motability Scheme.
About You
To be successful in this role, you will need to be passionate about delivering successful communications and understand the role of PR in managing an organization's reputation. You will also need to be creative, flexible and able to take complex information and translate it into plain English. Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential, as well as the ability to adapt your style for different audiences. You will also need to be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment and be very organized, able to manage multiple projects, priorities and deadlines successfully. Minimum Criteria:
- Experience working in a communications or PR role, either agency or in-house, with media relations particularly desirable.
- A keen eye for detail and excellent copywriting skills.
- Experience in reporting against campaign and communications objectives.
- Ability to work effectively with many different external and internal stakeholders.
- Experience of administrative and team support.
- Strong analytical skills and able to communicate complex information effectively.
