About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic English teacher to join our dynamic department at Wayman Learning Trust, a vibrant and inclusive West London secondary school with a strong academic record and a commitment to developing well-rounded individuals. Key Responsibilities
  • Curriculum Delivery:
    • P lan and deliver engaging and stimulating English lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
    • Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their literacy skills effectively (phonics reading comprehension writing fluency grammar vocabulary acquisition).
    • Develop a love for reading and writing, encouraging exploration of a wide range of texts (fiction non-fiction poetry drama) and fostering critical analysis skills (close reading identifying themes character development literary devices).
  • Building Relationships:
    • Build strong and positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence in written and verbal communication.
    • Provide constructive feedback and support to enable students to reach their full potential (individualized learning plans targeted intervention strategies).
    • Cultivate a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages participation intellectual curiosity and a love for the English language.
  • Assessment and Evaluation:
    • Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in reading writing speaking and listening skills (formative and summative assessments).
    • Provide students with clear constructive feedback that helps them improve their writing reading and analytical skills (written feedback peer review self-assessment).

    Estimated Salary Range
