English Language Specialist

We are seeking a highly motivated and enthusiastic English teacher to join our dynamic department at Wayman Learning Trust, a vibrant and inclusive West London secondary school with a strong academic record and a commitment to developing well-rounded individuals. Key Responsibilities- Curriculum Delivery:
- P lan and deliver engaging and stimulating English lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
- Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their literacy skills effectively (phonics reading comprehension writing fluency grammar vocabulary acquisition).
- Develop a love for reading and writing, encouraging exploration of a wide range of texts (fiction non-fiction poetry drama) and fostering critical analysis skills (close reading identifying themes character development literary devices).
- Building Relationships:
- Build strong and positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence in written and verbal communication.
- Provide constructive feedback and support to enable students to reach their full potential (individualized learning plans targeted intervention strategies).
- Cultivate a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages participation intellectual curiosity and a love for the English language.
- Assessment and Evaluation:
- Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in reading writing speaking and listening skills (formative and summative assessments).
- Provide students with clear constructive feedback that helps them improve their writing reading and analytical skills (written feedback peer review self-assessment).
- A qualified English teacher with a demonstrable track record of success in engaging students.
- Excellent subject knowledge and a passion for inspiring a love of literature and language in students of all abilities.
- Strong pedagogical skills and the ability to deliver innovative and effective lessons that cater to diverse learning styles.
- A commitment to high standards and the ability to create a positive stimulating and supportive learning environment.
- Excellent communication interpersonal and collaboration skills.
- A willingness to be part of a dynamic school and contribute to its ongoing development.
