Procurement Strategist

Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled Procurement Specialist to join our client's team. As a key member of the procurement function, you will be responsible for developing and maintaining robust relationships with suppliers.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Head of Procurement to refine and develop the existing buying strategy, aligning it with customer needs. They will also monitor pricing and negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal prices and service levels are achieved.

About You

To succeed in this role, you will need a background in distribution, wholesale or FMCG, experience in procurement and commercial strategy, and strong stakeholder management skills. Effective negotiation skills and advanced forecasting abilities are also essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage current and prospective relationships with suppliers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with the Head of Procurement to refine and develop the existing buying strategy.
• Work closely with the sales team to align the buying strategy with customer needs.
• Monitor pricing and negotiate with suppliers to ensure optimal prices and service levels are achieved.
• Evaluate supplier performance and ensure adherence to contractual obligations.
• Analyse market trends and maintain visibility of agreed KPIs throughout the year.
