About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Lawrence Grant. As a Senior Accountant, you will play a key role in providing high-quality accounting services to our clients.

Main Responsibilities

  • Prepare financial statements for small to medium-sized businesses, including limited companies, LLPs, sole traders, and partnerships.
  • Conduct financial planning and budgeting for clients, ensuring accurate and timely completion of tasks.
  • Liaise with clients to gather information and resolve queries, ensuring excellent communication and customer service.
  • Prepare and review financial reports, including completion of paper or electronic disclosure checklists.
  • Collaborate with senior team members to ensure high-quality work and adherence to office guidelines.

Accounting and Bookkeeping

  • Prepare and review financial statements, including cash books, sales day books, and purchase day books for limited companies, LLPs, sole traders, and partnerships.
  • Conduct bank reconciliations and prepare accounts from incomplete records or client trial balances.
  • Liaise with clients to gather information and resolve queries, ensuring excellent communication and customer service.

Audit and Tax

  • Conduct internal and external audits, including fieldwork testing of bank, sales, purchases, and stock take attendance.
  • Prepare personal tax returns, VAT returns, corporation tax computations, and P11ds.

General Responsibilities

  • Provide occasional advisory work, including business plans and profit and cash flow forecasts.
  • Deal with client correspondence and review work of junior team members.
  • Attend in-house and external professional training courses to stay up-to-date with industry developments.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Accounting and finance degree or relevant qualification preferred.
  • ACCA/ACA exam qualified or equivalent preferred.
  • Minimum 18 months post-membership experience.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work on own initiative and as part of a team.
  • Attention to detail and deadline-driven.
  • Computer packages, including Excel, Word, Outlook, Sage Line 50, Iris, CCH Pro audit, and VT.
