Quantinuum is a pioneering company in quantum computing, driving breakthroughs in materials discovery, cybersecurity, and next-gen AI. We are seeking a highly skilled research scientist to contribute to cutting-edge projects in Compositional Intelligence (CI) and Quantum Natural Language Processing (QNLP). The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in designing, training, and testing QNLP experiments, as well as other emerging initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate with the implementation team on the design, training, and testing of the DisCoCirc model for natural language processing on quantum hardware.
  • Lead and support efforts to apply quantum computing techniques to compositional models of language.
  • Engage in research and development for new and ongoing QNLP projects in collaboration with academic and industry partners.
  • Contribute to outreach and dissemination efforts related to QNLP and the broader field of compositional intelligence.
  • Participate in the writing of research papers, grant proposals, and presentations at conferences.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in experimental quantum physics, a PhD in Physics or a closely related field, and expertise in the DisCoCirc model and its applications in natural language processing. A strong foundation in string diagrams and category theory is also essential. The salary for this position is estimated to be around $120,000 per year, depending on experience and qualifications.
