Role Overview

Aspire People is seeking a skilled Behavior Support Specialist to join our dedicated team at a supportive secondary school. This role is ideal for individuals with experience in working with young people who exhibit challenging behaviors, aiming to create a positive school environment and support students' social, emotional, and academic development.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide tailored support to students displaying challenging behaviors, promoting a positive attitude towards learning and school.
  2. Develop and implement individualized behavior support plans in collaboration with teachers, counselors, and other support staff.
  3. Mentor students on a one-to-one or small group basis, helping them set personal goals, build self-esteem, and develop positive coping strategies.
  4. Work closely with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure comprehensive support for students' needs.
Requirements:
  1. Proven experience working with secondary school students, particularly those with behavioral challenges, in an educational, youth work, or mentoring role.
  2. Relevant qualifications in education, youth work, or counseling are highly desirable.
  3. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and experience working with students with special educational needs (SEN) or social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) challenges is beneficial.
