Cost Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Cost Management Specialist to join our team at Turner & Townsend Group. As a key member of our cost management team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality cost management services to our clients across various sectors.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development of feasibility studies and procurement reports
- Estimate and cost plan projects, including producing and presenting the final cost plan
- Tender and procure projects, including managing the pre-qualification stage and producing tender reports
- Conduct contract administration, including dealing with post-contract cost variances and change control processes
- Take personal responsibility for making cost checks and carrying out valuations on larger projects
- Produce monthly post-contract cost reports and present them to clients
- Negotiate and agree final accounts
- Interface with clients, project managers, and other consultants at all project stages
- Work collaboratively with our project management team during project delivery
- Where appropriate, lead a cost management team and ensure they deliver on all key responsibilities
- Implement our Embodied Carbon Calculator to produce carbon footprint reports
- Manage internal fees, internal job costing, and resourcing requirements
Marketing and Business Development:
- Identify opportunities to develop new business with existing clients
- Develop and maintain a professional network of peers and potential clients
- Assist in the production of bid documentation
- Participate in extracurricular activities, including external groups and networking events
Reporting:
Depending on the context, a Cost Management Specialist may report to a Senior Cost Manager or Associate Director.
Key Performance Indicators:
- Commissions are managed to the right quality standards and are completed efficiently and on time
- Service delivery on commissions is in line with the conditions of appointment
- Good relationships are developed with clients and members of the cross-functional team
- The individual works as an effective member of the cost management team
- Opportunities are identified to develop new business with existing clients
- Margin levels are kept track of on all commissions
- Key information and data are effectively cascaded and appropriately retained
Requirements:
- A proven track record of delivering high-quality cost management services across the full project lifecycle
- Degree or HNC level qualification
- Professionally qualified (RICS or similar)
