The Role
We are seeking a skilled Concrete Pump Operative/Labourer to join our team at our Portsmouth site. The ideal candidate will be able to work collaboratively with our Concrete Pump Operator and contribute to ensuring a safe and efficient concrete pouring process.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough site assessments to identify potential risks and hazards, working closely with the Concrete Pump Operator to ensure a safe pour.
- Secure the working area by placing cones and a tarpaulin sheet to prevent unauthorized access and contain concrete spillages.
- Prepare the concrete pump equipment by removing and laying out pipes, rubber seals, coupling connectors, and securing pins in the correct order.
- Assist the Concrete Pump Operator with the concrete pump operation, clearing blockages as needed, and monitoring the concrete flow to prevent pipe blockages.
- Liaise with the Concrete Pump Operator and customer throughout the pour, using agreed hand signals to ensure a smooth process.
- Dismantle and clean the pipe work and equipment after the pour, and report any issues to the Concrete Pump Operator and relevant management.
- Perform tasks in the picking station/yard when concrete pump work is not available.

- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and remain calm under pressure.
- Excellent health and safety knowledge and awareness.
