Job Description

Project Partners is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Reliability Specialist to join our team.

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced reliability engineer who can assist in providing a comprehensive predictive and preventive maintenance program to support business and statutory requirements.

The successful candidate will work closely with the Conformance & Reliability Supervisor to develop and implement strategies that increase equipment reliability while meeting safety, health, environment, production, quality, and financial targets.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive predictive maintenance strategy including vibration analysis, oil analysis, thermography, and wear monitoring.
  • Create a preventative maintenance strategy encompassing lubrication, routine component replacement, and routine running checks.
  • Analyze data from RCA and FMEA processes to identify areas of improvement and implement solutions within the scope of the R&M budget.
  • Safeguard operations and maintain environmental compliance to achieve zero accidents and incidents based on UK legislation and policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of a safe working environment at our Rugby site through integrating safety into all predictive and preventative maintenance processes.
  • Plan and deliver a cultural environment where the Reliability team prioritizes their own safety and that of colleagues and contractors.
  • Contribute as a member of the reliability maintenance team to formulate plant maintenance strategies.
  • Develop short- and long-term predictive and preventative maintenance plans considering internal and external changes.
  • React promptly to unforeseen events to optimize plant performance on a day-to-day basis.
  • Undertake or assist in repairs identified using reliability techniques (vibration/oil analysis).
  • Produce timely reports and analysis for the maintenance management team to inform decision-making.
  • Support the annual plant shutdown to optimize plant safety and efficiency.
  • Awareness of budget constraints and suggest cost-effective solutions to plant reliability issues.
  • Execute small Capital projects ensuring they align with available budgets.
  • Perform predictive/preventative routines to high standards and submit documentation for archive.
  • Establish strong, long-term relationships with area coordinators.

Requirements:

  • Good understanding and passion for condition monitoring or reliability maintenance principles, including predictive and preventative maintenance.
  • Ability to integrate into a team of mechanical, electrical, and reliability technicians, communicate with supervisors, engineers, and managers when spotting issues on-site.
  • Open-minded individual capable of viewing problems holistically.

Experience/Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Health and Safety practices in an engineering environment (regulations to follow, keeping safe).
  • NVQ level 3 in mechanical engineering (happy with NVQ level 3 in any other type of engineering but have worked with mechanical machines before) or time-served apprenticeship.
  • Previous experience in heavy engineering industry, not afraid to get dirty.

Estimated Salary Range: £40,000 - £45,000 per annum.
