Job Title: Building Surveyor

Adecco is partnering with a leading housing provider in NW England to recruit an experienced Building Surveyor for their Assets team.

Job Purpose:

The Building Surveyor will ensure that surveys, defects, and follow-up works are managed effectively across various services, including repairs, empty homes, planned maintenance, fire damage, adaptations, and alterations.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Ensure inspections, surveys, and repairs comply with OM landlord obligations to mitigate claims for disrepairs, personal injury, and fitness for habitation.
  • Carry out day-to-day and property surveys to identify defects, raising works as necessary within the organization's systems.
  • Prepare specifications, schedules, and drawings for building works related to repairs, HHSRS, fire damage, adaptations, alteration, planned repairs, major repairs, disrepair, and empty home reinstatement works.
  • Undertake contract administration for the delivery of company projects with knowledge of relevant building contracts.
  • Carry out regular H&S audits and adhere to regulations and policies.
  • Undertake acquisition surveys to mitigate risk on property purchases.
  • Work with the commercial team to establish scheme cost plans.
Requirements:
  • Appropriate academic qualification or professional qualification to HNC level or above.
  • Relevant experience in building surveying with a drive to obtain relevant qualifications.
  • Excellent verbal and written ability, strong presentation, and interpersonal skills.
  • Up-to-date knowledge of relevant legislation.
  • Highly numerate and IT literate.
  • Able to assess risk associated with asset decisions.
