About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Insurance Underwriter to join our team at Hiscox UK. As a leading brand in the insurance market, we are recognized for our expertise in underwriting Professional Indemnity, Cyber, Property, and Casualty lines.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Secure new and existing high-value risks, providing top-tier underwriting for complex exposures in familiar risk categories.
  2. Focus on high-value policies in the mid-market sector, with a focus on maximizing Gross Written Premium (GWP) from significant risks in the UK.
  3. Lead by example, influencing other underwriters, and exerting a broader impact within your field of expertise at a national level.
  4. Act as a brand ambassador, renowned for your underwriting expertise in Hiscox's established risk categories.
  5. Impart expertise through coaching and training, enhancing our mid-market capabilities.
  6. Build and maintain strategic broker relationships, ensuring a robust market presence in the mid-market sector.

Requirements

  1. Excellent understanding of UK retail business and underwriting larger, more complex risks.
  2. In-depth expertise in your specialized field.
  3. Excellent knowledge of the insurance market, industry, competitors, brokers, and factors that can affect the market, including soft and hard markets.
