About the Role

As a Principal Hydrogeologist, you will be responsible for leading and managing a collaborative team of skilled hydrogeologists, providing expert technical guidance, and fostering a collaborative environment. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing expert advice on all facets of groundwater management, including abstraction licensing, pollution control, and monitoring.
  • Ensuring clients are equipped to navigate complex regulatory landscapes while sustainably optimising their water resources.
  • Undertaking comprehensive hydrogeological assessments, including water resource, impact, and risk assessments.
  • Staying abreast of the latest developments in hydrogeology and related fields, sharing acquired knowledge, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Managing a portfolio of projects, ensuring timely delivery, adherence to budgetary constraints, and uncompromising standards of quality.
  • Developing and maintaining robust relationships with clients, identifying opportunities for business growth, and tailoring our services to meet evolving client needs.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A postgraduate degree in hydrogeology, geology, or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 8 years' experience in hydrogeology, including experience in managing projects and leading teams.
  • Chartered status with a relevant professional body (e.g. Geological Society, Chartered Institute of Water and Environmental Management).
  • Excellent technical knowledge of hydrogeology, including groundwater resource assessments, impact assessments, and risk assessments.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience of managing projects from start to finish.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical issues to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong commercial awareness, with experience of identifying and developing business opportunities.
  • UK Driving Licence required.
