DMW Recruitment is seeking a skilled Mechanical Technician to join our client's team at their Teesside site. As a Mechanical Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe and efficient maintenance of terminal operations.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage terminal maintenance safely and efficiently.
- Complete allocated tasks accurately to maintain quality performance.
- Provide technical support, leadership, and guidance to projects, operations, and maintenance.
- Comply with UK policies and procedures.
- Repair rotating equipment, including mechanical seals, packed gland replacements, bearing replacements, and oil changes.
- Recommend and ensure actions on incident reports are recorded on the terminal's Eventis system.
- Monitor and report on consumable stock levels.
- Act as terminal champions for all flanged connections, ensuring compliance with flanged connection procedures.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of procedures.
- Execute safety-critical equipment routines, ensuring correct installation, checks, and precautions are taken.
- Make and break joints, replace in-line equipment and piping, and perform routine 3-monthly inspections of tanks.
- Ensure contractors working on-site comply with site rules and regulations.
- Perform fire pump testing, boxing, and unboxing of tanks for inspection, including mechanical isolations.
- Maintain cranes and winches, perform slinging, rigging, and lifting, and carry out mechanical hazardous area inspections.
- Perform valve preventative maintenance, overhaul, and loading arm maintenance, and assist with hose testing and pressure testing.
- Assist with inspection and certification of lifting equipment and perform flame/spark arrestor inspections.
- NVQ Engineering Maintenance (Level 3) or time-served mechanical technician.
- 5+ years of experience on chemical manufacturing or storage plant.
- ECITB MJI10 hand torque bolted connection techniques and ECITB MJI19 hydraulic torque bolted connection techniques.
- Ability to read process and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
- Manual Handling and Asbestos Awareness.
