Key Responsibilities:
  • Extensive experience and knowledge in adult psychiatry and mental health diagnosis are essential for this position. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of the Mental Health Act and Code of Practice.
  • A strong team player with a commitment to continued professional development is required. The individual should be capable of working as part of a multidisciplinary team and contribute to a collaborative environment.

Leadership Opportunities:
  • This role presents an excellent opportunity for leadership and professional growth. The Consultant Psychiatrist will lead the implementation of risk assessments and management strategies, ensuring clinical governance standards are maintained.
  • The individual will participate in ward rounds and clinical audits to review the quality of care and outcomes.
  • In addition, they will supervise reports for Mental Health Act tribunals, attend hearings, and ensure compliance with legislation.
  • The Consultant Psychiatrist will also participate in a telephone on-call rota, providing 24/7 support to patients and colleagues.

Salary: £80,000 - £110,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
