About the Role

EDB is seeking a highly skilled Senior Sales Engineer to support our sales team in the UK&I region. As a Senior Sales Engineer, you will be responsible for delivering technical expertise to clients, working closely with internal teams and external stakeholders to provide solutions that meet their needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the sales team in all technical aspects of the sales process, including presentations, demos, proof of value, pilots, and technical workshops.
  • Collaborate with Field & Inside Sales, Partners, Product Management & Engineering to ensure technical requirements are met.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to clients, ensuring they achieve their objectives and success criteria.
Requirements
  • Relational database experience, with active use or administration of PostgreSQL or other major databases.
  • Customer-facing experience in a pre-sales, sales engineering, consulting, or support capacity.
  • Fluency in English and excellent communication skills.
  • Experience with High Availability, Scalability, Performance trade-offs, Security & related concepts.
  • Cloud experience with one of the major cloud providers: AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, VMWare Cloud, or OpenStack.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Ability to conduct product proof-of-value from initial requirements gathering to successful achievement of objectives and success criteria.
  • Experience with Containers (Docker), Kubernetes, Microservices, PaaS (OpenShift, CloudFoundry).
  • Knowledge of one of the major programming languages: Java, Python, node.js, Ruby, C/C++ using database connectors (JDBC, Python, node.js, ODBC).
