Job Title: Quantum Uncertainty Analyst

We are seeking a skilled Bayesian expert to join our team at The International Society for Bayesian Analysis. As a Quantum Uncertainty Analyst, you will be working with Prof Caitlin Buck and Professor Jeremy Oakley to develop novel protocols and software for quantifying uncertainty in expert archaeological dating evidence.

The role involves developing new formal probability statements to quantify expert knowledge using open-source software. This is a unique opportunity to improve the consistency and reusability of dating evidence for commonly dated finds from archaeological sites.

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • PhD in Statistics, Science-based Archaeology, or a related subject
  • Confident programming skills in R or Python
  • Background in expert elicitation, Bayesian inference, or qualitative data analysis

Salary: £37,099-£45,585 per annum
