About the Role
As a Mechanical Maintenance Specialist at Biffa Waste Services Limited, you will be responsible for driving engineering activities at our MBT facility to deliver operational excellence. You will ensure high plant availability by carrying out planned preventative maintenance, reactive maintenance, and process improvements in a timely manner. This role requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving abilities.

Responsibilities
• Effectively drive engineering activities to deliver all operational aspects of the facility
• Ensure high plant availability through planned preventative maintenance and reactive maintenance
• Implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce downtime
• Collaborate with internal teams and external contractors on specific repairs and maintenance work
• Stay up-to-date with changes to Health & Safety, Environmental Legislation, and Company Policies

Requirements
• Engineering Qualification Level 3 City and Guilds/NVQ or equivalent
• HNC/D Mechanical Engineering (desirable)
• IOSHH Managing Safely (desirable)
• Strong technical skills and knowledge of mechanical systems
