Urgent Care Practitioner Opportunity:

We are seeking an experienced healthcare professional to join our Urgent Treatment Centre team at Watford General Hospital as an Emergency Nurse Practitioner. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong clinical skills and experience.

About the Role:

  • You will work autonomously, assessing and treating patients with minor injuries and illnesses.
  • You will provide high-quality patient care, taking a comprehensive history and performing physical examinations.
  • You will decide on and carry out treatment, referring to specialist services as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Consult with patients, taking a comprehensive patient history and performing physical examinations.
  • Carry out treatment, referring to primary or secondary care specialist services within local agreed pathways and protocols as appropriate.
  • Provide clinical advice and mentorship to junior clinical staff.

Requirements:

  • Registered Nurse or Paramedic qualification.
  • Degree level study or equivalent.
  • Completion of study in minor injuries and x-ray interpretation.
  • Independent non-medical prescriber or able to work with PGDs.
