About the Opportunity:

The Fortus Recruitment Group is seeking an experienced Advanced Fire Detection and Suppression Technician to join their team. The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of fire alarm systems and be able to work independently and as part of a team.

Main Responsibilities:

  1. Carry out day-to-day planned and reactive maintenance of contracts
  2. Respond to emergency callouts and perform remedial works as required
  3. Install replacement or additional equipment
  4. Participate in the on-call rota
  5. Conduct site surveys as needed
  6. Train apprentices
  7. Service, maintain, and install fire alarm systems (BS5839-1) and emergency lighting systems, including Nurse Call and Access Control, in accordance with British Standards
  8. Complete engineer service reports accurately
  9. Report deficiencies or deviations in systems
  10. Maintain emergency lighting systems and associated equipment, such as fire extinguishers and AOVs
  11. Conduct regular van stock checks and liaise with the Engineering Technical Supervisor and Procurement Department to ensure replenishment and appropriate stocking

Requirements: The ideal candidate will have a strong background in fire alarm engineering, excellent problem-solving skills, and a focus on health and safety. They will also be comfortable working independently and as part of a team.

Estimated Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience.
