Job Title: Head Gardener

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Head Gardener to join our team at Beaverbrook. As a key member of our gardening team, you will be responsible for maintaining the beauty and integrity of our 400-acre estate.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Maintain the highest standards of garden maintenance, including pruning, weeding, and mulching.
  • Supervise and train a team of gardeners to ensure the efficient and effective maintenance of the estate.
  • Develop and implement garden plans and strategies to enhance the aesthetic appeal and biodiversity of the estate.
  • Manage and maintain garden equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working order.
  • Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless communication and coordination.
  • Monitor and control pests and diseases, using integrated pest management techniques.
  • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of horticulture, including plant identification, soil science, and garden design.
Requirements:
  • NVQ in Horticulture or equivalent qualification.
  • Plant knowledge RHS Foundation in Horticulture Level 1.
  • Plant knowledge RHS level 2 or equivalent.
  • PA1 and PA6 Spraying certificates (desirable).
  • Chainsaw Certification (desirable).
