Job Title: Interim Personal Tax Assistant Manager

Halliday Marx is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Interim Personal Tax Assistant Manager to join our team on a 6-month interim basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity to work with a top 50 accountancy firm and contribute to the growth of our practice.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Client Relationships: Build and maintain strong relationships with a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high-net-worth individuals and business owners.
  • Tax Compliance: Manage all aspects of personal tax compliance, ensuring timely and accurate preparation and submission of tax returns.
  • Tax Planning and Advisory: Provide bespoke tax planning and advisory services, including inheritance tax, capital gains tax, and residency and domicile issues.
  • Team Leadership: Supervise, mentor, and develop junior staff, providing technical guidance and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.
  • Business Development: Identify opportunities to expand services to existing clients and contribute to the growth of the practice through networking and developing new client relationships.
  • Technical Expertise: Stay up-to-date with the latest tax legislation and HMRC guidelines, ensuring clients receive informed advice and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Quality and Risk Management: Ensure all work is carried out in accordance with the firm's quality and risk management procedures.
Requirements:
  • Qualifications: ACA/ACCA/CTA qualified.
  • Experience: Proven track record in a similar role, ideally within a top 50 accountancy firm or similar environment.
  • Technical Knowledge: Strong technical knowledge of UK personal tax legislation and experience with complex tax issues.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex tax matters in a clear and concise manner.
  • Leadership Skills: Client-focused, with a commitment to delivering high-quality service and leadership experience, with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
  • Commercial Mindset: Proactive and commercial mindset, with a track record of identifying and capitalizing on business development opportunities.
