About the Role
As a Maintenance Technician at Tesco, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and functionality of our stores, distribution centers, and other facilities. You will work collaboratively with colleagues to deliver exceptional maintenance and engineering services, utilizing your technical skills and experience to drive results.
Your Responsibilities
  1. Ensure all Tesco sites are a safe and functioning environment for customers and colleagues.
  2. Follow the planned work schedule to achieve first-time fix, maximize productivity, and effectiveness.
  3. Deliver high-quality work standards across the estate, with year-on-year improvement.
  4. Communicate and build effective relationships with stakeholders.
  5. Work closely with team members, sharing best practice and knowledge.
  6. Use problem-solving skills and innovation to identify and develop solutions for key and common issues.
  7. Own tasks at a local level through to completion/resolution, informing key stakeholders through the process, where required.
  8. Own your development through progression of the maintenance pathway.
  9. Drive your own monthly 1-2-1 schedule with your line manager.
  10. Use mobile devices; phone and tablet, to drive best practice in work completion and updates.
  11. Use the business systems to drive best practice in WON reporting to support asset lifecycle management.
  12. Represent the Tesco brand following business ways of working, demonstrating values-led behaviors, a positive attitude, and taking pride in wearing the Tesco uniform.
  13. Attend local and national meetings, providing valuable input and feedback.
  14. Support KPI delivery, through the practical application of skill sets, and effective use of business systems to drive achievement of your own set KPIs.
  15. Support a diverse and inclusive culture.
What You Need
  1. Full driving license
  2. Health & Safety awareness
  3. Communication & stakeholder management
  4. Office 365 knowledge
  5. Completed all technical training upskilling modules relevant to skillset
  6. Bricklaying & Masonry
  7. Roof construction and maintenance
  8. Cement / Concrete preparation
  9. Groundworks & Paving
  10. Tiling and Flooring
  11. Plastering & Dry walling
  12. Relevant Experience:
    1. Completion of a Recognised Apprenticeship or Improver Programme or Trade Proficiency Test
    2. Bricklayer C&G 6217, 6314, 6619, 6219, 6570, 6715 or NVQ or equivalent or B/TEC ONC/HNC Construction and the Built environment
    3. Digitally confident; can comfortably operate mobile phone and tablets to view workload, emails, teams, and use of business systems
