About the Job

We are currently recruiting for a skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join our team at Royal Mail Property & Facilities Solutions.

The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the safety of third parties, contractors, and surveyors when escorting them into the Mail Rail tunnel network. This includes ensuring appropriate PPE, risk assessment method statements, emergency task lighting, and mail rail inductions are in place.

In addition to this, the successful candidate will be responsible for general fixing of tunnel and station lights, ensuring groundwater levels are kept to a minimum, carrying out weekly routine inspections, and maintaining communication and CCTV equipment.

Job Summary:

This is a challenging role that requires strong mechanical and electrical engineering skills, as well as excellent health and safety knowledge.

Responsibilities:

  • General fixing of tunnel & station lights
  • Ensuring ground water levels are kept to the minimal at each station
  • Carrying out weekly routine inspections and repairs as necessary
  • Maintaining communication and CCTV equipment
  • Routinely check security of Mail Rail access & egress points
