About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Commercial Manager to join our team at ENGINEERINGUK. As a key member of our commercial team, you will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of our business objectives.

Your primary responsibility will be to provide commercial expertise and guidance to our programme and route teams, ensuring compliance with relevant business targets, processes, and procedures. You will also be responsible for assessing commercial risk and implementing suitable control measures, as well as managing the efficient and effective implementation of category strategies at programme and route level.

In addition, you will take a leading role in advising on the management and resolution of variations, commercial disputes, and claims arising from our programmes and routes. You will also be responsible for implementing appropriate controls to monitor compliance with our company's commercial policies and procedures.

As a Senior Commercial Manager, you will have the opportunity to work closely with our senior business partners, including the Infrastructure Director, IMDMs, Heads of Finance, and senior members of our commercial staff. You will also be required to attend site visits and gain an understanding of how projects are being administered within our office environment.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Provide commercial expertise and guidance to programme and route teams.
  2. Assess commercial risk and implement suitable control measures.
  3. Manage the efficient and effective implementation of category strategies at programme and route level.
  4. Advise on the management and resolution of variations, commercial disputes, and claims.
  5. Implement appropriate controls to monitor compliance with company commercial policies and procedures.
  6. Review supplier performance against agreed Key Performance Indicators and take corrective action where required.
  7. Commercially manage relationships with contractors and suppliers to maximise benefit for ENGINEERINGUK.
  8. Lead the commercial administration for any third-party contractual arrangements undertaken by our programmes and routes.
  9. Work with relevant teams to provide commercial input into business planning and maintainer renewals processes.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a strong understanding of the construction industry and related supply chains, including commercial and contract administration processes. You will also need to be computer literate and able to utilise in-house and external software.

In addition, you will need to have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to form strong relationships with senior business partners and stakeholders. You will also need to be able to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritise tasks and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
