Key Responsibilities:

  • Direct and lead Laing O'Rourke's Project delivery method practices and procedures, along with appropriate strategies, policies, frameworks, and governance processes, and embed into the team's ways of working.
  • Direct and lead the IT Project management team in Laing O'Rourke's Europe hub to deliver outstanding project management across the projects in the portfolio.
  • Line manage the IT Project management team, including performance and compliance to Laing O'Rourke's working practices.
  • Influence peer roles (Programme leaders, Design leads, Architecture leads) on Project delivery making, while retaining ultimate accountability for successful delivery.
  • Work alongside the Business sponsors to ensure successful delivery of business benefits through the use of best practice project management capability.
  • Be the advocate of a Product centric approach and enablement methodologies.
  • Develop active management of relationship with key stakeholders to enable IT to be seen as a 'trusted partner' and the default go-to delivery capability within LOR.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience of setting up and driving the Project management team in a similar or equivalent environment to Laing O'Rourke.
  • Significant experience of IT Project management/delivery leadership using differing delivery methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, DevOps) in a complex environment, leading different delivery teams from build to buy.
  • Preferably 10+ years' experience of project delivery leadership in a complex multi-site environment with relevant qualifications.
  • Significant experienced in project management techniques, ideally with formal accreditation by industry bodies or certifications i.e., APM, MSP.
