Accounting Assistant

**Job Summary**
---------------

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Assistant to join our finance team at Reed. As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining accurate and up-to-date accounting records, ensuring client account ledgers are accurate, and posting payments and receipts efficiently.

**Key Responsibilities**
---------------------

* Maintain accounting records with timeliness and accuracy
* Ensure client account ledgers are up-to-date and accurate
* Post payments and receipts efficiently
* Minimise the list of 'transactions to process'
* Play a key role in accounting for property completions
* Chase and prepare client to office transfers
* Manage control of client account ledgers
* Engage in further accounting tasks such as bank reconciliations
* Raise overhead payments as required

**Requirements**
------------

* Effective communication skills
* Attention to detail and ability to work accurately
* Adaptability in a changing environment
* Patience, good manners, and a professional approach to work at all times
* Ability to use initiative and prioritise tasks and enquiries
* Reasonable Excel skills with the willingness to learn more
* Experience in a finance department is preferred
* A strong desire to learn about accounting in a busy finance team within a legal business
