Marchmont House Care Home is looking for an exceptional Senior Care Assistant to join our team

As a Senior Care Assistant, you will be responsible for leading our care team, ensuring that our residents receive the best possible care, and maintaining a safe and welcoming environment.

About the Role:

  • Lead and Coordinate: Take charge of coordinating shifts and ensuring that all staff are contributing to the smooth running of the home.
  • Resident Support: Provide high-quality care and support to our residents, focusing on their individual needs and preferences.
  • Medication Management: Oversee the safe and effective management of medication, ensuring accurate records are maintained.
  • Effective Communication: Communicate clearly and compassionately with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Team Collaboration: Foster a collaborative team culture, promoting open communication and respect among colleagues.
  • Visitor Interaction: Welcome visitors and showcase our home's facilities, highlighting the excellent care and support we offer.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies, assessing situations and providing assistance as needed.
  • Documentation: Maintain accurate records of resident care plans, risk assessments, and case notes.
  • Professional Development: Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities, enhancing your skills and knowledge.
  • Health and Safety: Uphold Health and Safety standards, reporting any concerns to management.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • SVQ/NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
  • Practical Medication Administration training with competencies
  • Strong leadership skills, with experience in motivating and developing teams
  • A compassionate and caring approach, with a focus on person-centred care
