Job Title: 1st Line/Desktop Support

Join JBC Skills Training Ltd as a 1st Line/Desktop Support and embark on a rewarding career in IT. As an IT Apprentice, you will be exposed to a broad range of technology used in schools, providing an opportunity to learn and grow while contributing to the smooth operation of the school.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide prompt and courteous support to staff, visitors, and students.
  • Log, triage, update, and resolve incidents and requests on the IT Service Desk.
  • Participate in weekly service desk reviews and maintain communication with relevant staff until incidents or requests are resolved.
  • Document solutions for common problems and contribute towards keeping the IT Fixed Asset Register up to date.
  • Assist in maintaining and supporting the IT hardware estate.
  • Continually enhance your knowledge of common local and cloud-based software packages and support others in using these systems.
  • Help to promote a cybersecurity-aware culture and identify areas for personal development and training.
Training and Qualification:

An apprenticeship includes regular training with a college or other training organisation. At least 20% of your working hours will be spent training or studying. You will be working towards a Level 3 Information Communications Technician Apprenticeship Standard.

Working Hours and Benefits:

37 hours per week, Monday to Thursday 8am to 4pm and Friday 8am to 3.30pm. Whole Year - 52 weeks per annum, with 26 days annual leave + Bank Holidays, rising to 28 days after 5 years' service.

Salary:

First year of apprenticeship Apprentice National Minimum Wage pay rate £6.40/hr. If you are aged 19 or over and have completed the first year of your apprenticeship, the higher National Living and Minimum Wage rates relevant to your age group will apply.

Equal to Level 3 (A level) qualification. Job Types: Full-time, Apprenticeship. Pay: £12,313.60 per year. Schedule: 8 hour shift, Day shift, Monday to Friday, No weekends. Ability to commute/relocate: Rugeley, WS15 2UE: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required). Education: GCSE or equivalent (required). Licence/Certification: Driving Licence (preferred). Location: Rugeley, WS15 2UE (preferred). Work Location: In person.
