Job Title: DB2 Database Engineer

We are seeking a skilled DB2 Database Engineer to join our team at The JM Longbridge Group. As a key member of our IT department, you will be responsible for the administration and continuous monitoring of DB2 databases.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Optimize database performance to ensure efficient data processing and retrieval.
  • Contribute to the design and deployment of database storage structures, backup systems, and security frameworks.
  • Implement and manage database policies and procedures to secure database integrity and availability.
  • Troubleshoot database issues and provide timely resolutions.
  • Patching and upgrades of DB systems.
  • Manage database backups and disaster recovery procedures using Cohesity.

Requirements:

  • Deep knowledge and proven work experience in database management technologies.
  • Proficient with VMWare and virtualisation environment.
  • Scripting skills in PowerShell, Python, Bash for automation and database task management.
  • Familiarity with both Windows Server and Unix/Linux operating systems.
