Job Description

Position: Specialist SEND Teaching Assistant

Location: Shrewsbury

Type: Full-Time / Part-Time

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide tailored support to students with SEND, ensuring their individual needs are met.
  • Assist in the planning and delivery of personalized learning activities.
  • Support the class teacher in creating a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Work with students individually or in small groups to reinforce learning and support their development.
  • Promote positive behavior and assist students in developing self-regulation and social skills.
  • Liaise with teachers, parents, and external professionals to ensure comprehensive support for students.
Requirements:
  • Experience working with children or young adults with SEND.
  • A compassionate, patient, and proactive approach.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Relevant qualifications or training in SEND education is an advantage.
  • An enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one).
