The OpportunityAbbott Rapid Diagnostics is part of Abbott's Diagnostics family of businesses, bringing together exceptional teams of experts and industry-leading technologies to support diagnostic testing. We're seeking a skilled Laboratory Analyst to join our Rapid Diagnostics (Toxicology) laboratory in Loughton, Essex.
Key Responsibilities- Extraction of drugs from urine samples using SPE/LLE and associated processes
- Screening of urine samples by CEDIA, HEIA, and preparation of daily screening quality controls and reagents
- Preparation of laboratory reagents, solutions, and controls
- Setting up of instruments and running system suitability tests (SSTs)
- Daily, weekly, and monthly equipment checks and routine maintenance
- Troubleshooting assay and instrument issues
- General QC monitoring
- Calculations of concentrations for standards, QCs, and reference solutions
- Participation in internal/external audits
- Training of other team members
- Science Graduate or equivalent experience
- Understanding of basic metabolic pathways of drugs
- Understanding of extraction methods and LCMS
- Prior experience in a laboratory environment
- Excellent attention to detail
- Keen interest in understanding principal processes
- Conformity with appropriate safety standards
- Work in accordance with current documented Standard Operating Procedures
