About the Role
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic individual to join our award-winning housekeeping team at Lincolnshire Partnership NHS Foundation Trust. As a Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a vital role in ensuring that our patients receive high-quality care in a clean and comfortable environment.
Main Responsibilities
- Achieve and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital, adhering to NHS National Standards of Cleanliness and Infection Control policy.
- Use cleaning equipment and materials effectively to provide a clean and safe environment.
- Clean all areas within the unit, including wards and off-ward areas, as defined in the cleaning schedules.
- Inspect electrical cleaning equipment daily and report any faults as necessary.
- Dispose of waste in accordance with trust policies.
- Dust and clean fixtures, fittings, and internal glass.
- Ensure soft furnishings, curtains, and soft flooring are cleaned and maintained as required.
- Prepare and regenerate meals for patients, maintaining food safety records in line with Food Safety Manual, Catering Policy, and all food safety legislation.
- Ready patient areas for meal service and clear related crockery and cutlery after meal service.
- Maintain stocks of cleaning materials on wards and admin areas.
- Report any issues or damage to the environment or furniture to the Housekeeping Supervisor or Ward Manager.
- Ensure linen stocks are maintained and laundered in line with appropriate policies.
- Comply with and carry out safe practice in accordance with Trust policies and procedures, relevant Codes of Conduct, the Mental Health Act (1983), and other national and local guidance.
Person Specification
- Level 2 Food Safety qualification or willingness to undertake.
- Basic Health & Safety Awareness.
- Chemical/CoSHH awareness.
- Moving & Handling Training.
Desirable Qualifications and Experience
- Previous experience within a cleaning or housekeeping role.
- Previous experience within an NHS or care environment.
- Food handling and hygiene experience.
