We are seeking an experienced Senior Psychiatrist to join our dynamic team at the Hertfordshire Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust. This exciting opportunity is part of our Specialist Services strategic business unit in HPFT, where you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care to young people and their families across the East of England region.
The CYPMH Eating Disorders (ED) Intensive Day and Virtual Service was developed as a 12-month pilot to provide intensive treatment through appointments and sessions both in a day patient unit and virtually. Your responsibilities will include managing, appraising, and giving professional supervision to junior medical staff, ensuring they operate within the parameters of the New Deal and Working Time Directive. You will also participate in service and business planning activity for the locality and contribute to the development of the mental health service.
You will work 4 programmed activities over 3 days, with 5 devoted to direct clinical care and 2.5 to supporting professional activities. A formal job plan will be agreed between you and the Associate Medical Director or Clinical Manager three months after commencing the post and at least annually thereafter.
Job Responsibilities- To attend and participate in the academic programme of the Trust and the team, including lectures and seminars as part of the internal CPD programme.
- Maintain professional registration with the General Medical Council, Mental Health Act Section 12(2) approval, and abide by professional codes of conduct.
- Participate annually in a job plan review with the Clinical Manager, which will include consultation with a relevant manager to ensure the post is developed to take into account changes in service configuration and delivery associated with modernisation.
The ideal candidate will possess:
- A MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
- Experience of the full range of clinical responsibilities expected of a consultant in CAMHS/Eating disorder psychiatry.
- Excellent clinical skills using a bio-psycho-social perspective and wide medical knowledge.
- Excellent degree of medical knowledge in relation to CAMHS Eating disorders.
- Able to deliver undergraduate or postgraduate teaching and training.
- Participated in continuous professional development.
- Holds a full valid driving license and access to a car (unless you have a disability as defined by the Disability Discrimination Act 1995).
We offer a competitive salary range of £80,000 - £110,000 per annum, depending on experience, and a comprehensive benefits package.
