Job Description:
As a key member of the Internal Audit team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the effectiveness of Goldman Sachs' internal control structure, including governance processes and controls, risk management, and capital and anti-financial crime frameworks. You will be responsible for communicating and reporting on the effectiveness of the firm's governance, risk management, and controls that mitigate current and evolving risks.
Key Responsibilities:
- Communicate and report on the effectiveness of the firm's governance, risk management, and controls
- Raise awareness of control risk and monitor the implementation of management's control measures
- Assess the firm's control culture and conduct risks
- Develop and maintain an in-depth understanding of business areas, its products, and supporting functions
- Plan and execute audit testing to ensure audit fieldwork is focused on the right areas and documentation meets high-quality standards
- Identify risks, assess mitigating controls, and make recommendations on improving the control environment
- Prepare commercially effective audit conclusions and findings, and present to IA senior management and business clients
- Follow-up on open audit issues and their resolution
Requirements:
- 10+ years of experience in a public accounting or internal audit role within the financial services industry or a related control function
- degree in a finance, accounting, or quantitative discipline, and ideally a graduate degree in a related subject
- Relevant certification or industry accreditation (e.g., ACA, ACCA) is a plus
- Solid understanding of financial concepts and/or operations related to controllers and tax functions
- Basel regulatory requirements and capital calculations
- Recovery and Resolution regulatory requirements
- US GAAP/IFRS accounting
- Controls surrounding regulatory reporting, legal entity reporting, financial reporting, and/or tax reporting
