Electrical Design Solutions Lead

At Beeby Anderson Recruitment, we are seeking an experienced Electrical Design Solutions Lead to join our team. As a key member of our engineering consultancy, you will be responsible for leading the electrical design solutions on complex projects from initial concept through to final delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the electrical design on complex and large-scale UK and International projects across a range of sectors, including commercial, residential, education, healthcare and industrial.
  • Manage the delivery of electrical design solutions in accordance with British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Produce detailed electrical designs and specifications for projects, ensuring compliance with performance requirements and energy efficiency standards.
  • Undertake detailed calculations and simulations to validate the electrical design solutions.
  • Attend site visits and meetings with clients, architects, and contractors.
  • Work collaboratively with other engineers and design team members to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met.
  • Mentor junior engineers to ensure their development and provide technical guidance.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current and emerging electrical design technologies and practices.

Requirements:

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 8 years' UK experience in electrical design engineering within the building services industry.
  • Ideally Chartered Engineer status.
  • Knowledge and experience of British Standards and relevant codes of practice.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Experience in using electrical design software such as Amtech, Dialux, or equivalent.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven ability to lead and manage a team.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team.
