Literacy Education Specialist for Newtown Pupil Referral Unit

About the role:

The Newtown Pupil Referral Unit is seeking an experienced Literacy Education Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our staff, you will be responsible for coordinating and developing literacy across the curriculum.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Implementing strategies to support students with emotional, behavioural and social needs
  • Teaching a variety of subject areas within the PRU and the Outreach service
  • Participating in the development of schemes of work, materials and syllabuses of the department
  • Developing positive working relationships with parents/carers, schools and supporting agencies/services, within clear PRU protocols

About you:

We are looking for an individual with a commitment to enhancing well-being for all students and those working with them. The successful candidate will have experience of teaching curriculum subjects at Key Stage 4 to accreditation level, and be able to demonstrate effective implementation of strategies to support students with emotional, behavioural and social needs.
