Master Fabricator

Innovate and lead the development of scale models for our F1 car, working closely with designers, aerodynamicists, and other departments.

• We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Model Maker to join our team at Visa Cash App RB Formula 1 Team. You will be responsible for ensuring that wind tunnel models and projects are manufactured to a high standard and to tight deadlines.
• The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in automotive and engineering, preferably in Formula 1, with a strong understanding of digital measurement and scanning systems such as Leica or Creaform and their associated software.
• You will also be familiar with pressure tap checking and management, able to interrogate CAD assemblies, and possess a deep knowledge of model mechanical assemblies.

• To attend Wind Tunnel tests, perform changes on the model under direction of the Duty Aerodynamicist, and ensure all tasks are carried out to exacting standards within tight deadlines.
• Work collaboratively with the Model shop, Designers & Aerodynamicists to develop scale models and working practices, assisting in the development of our F1 car.
• Create and maintain good communication with the whole department to ensure continuous progress and promote the highest standards of quality and workmanship on all components and projects.

• Possess good communication skills, both written and verbal, combined with the ability to work well with colleagues, and work well under pressure to meet time-critical deadlines.
• Able to suggest improvements to the construction of the models and process, constantly think of improvements and developments to help us evolve, and deal with technical challenges as they arise, knowing when to ask if unsure.
